Tomato raita recipe is one of the simplest of all raita recipes. The red colour of tomato along with white yogurt give a very nice colour combination that brings children to the dining table. Tomato raita is very easy to make and gets ready quickly.
Ingredients for Tomato Raita:
1 cup yogurt (dahi)
2 medium sized Tomato, finely chopped
1/2 t-spoon roasted ground cumin (Jeera)
1/2 t-spoon salt
1 green chilly, finely chopped
1/2 t-spoon kala namak (if not available, then take salt instead)
1/4 t-spoon black pepper (Kali mirch)
1/4 t-spoon red chillies powder (lal mirch)
1/4 t-spoon chat masala (Optional)
10-15 fresh coriander leaves
1/2 cup water
How to make Tomato Raita:
- Take a medium sized bowl and add yogurt to it. Mash it with a blender or madani until it gets smooth. Add water and remaining ingredients except Tomato and again mix them well.
- Now add Tomato to it and mix it well. Refrigerate Tomato Raita for 1/2 hour.
- Before serving, garnish Tomato Raita with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve chilled.
