Mint Raita Recipe

Mint raita is also known as pudina raita. Mint leaves are herbal in nature and helps to fight with many types of diseases. Mint is used in making wide variety of medicines. It's combination with yogurt gives a very tangy and minty flavour or Mint raita.

Ingredients for Mint Raita (Pudina Raita):

1 cup yogurt (dahi)
2 table-spoon mint leaves, finely chopped (Pudina)
4 table-spoon mint leaves, wet grinded with 4 table-spoon water
1/2 t-spoon roasted ground cumin (Jeera)
1/2 t-spoon salt
1 green chilly, finely chopped
1/2 t-spoon kala namak (if not available, then take salt instead)
1/4 t-spoon black pepper (Kali mirch)
1/4 t-spoon red chillies powder (lal mirch)
1/4 t-spoon chat masala (Optional)
10-15 fresh coriander leaves
1/2 cup water


How to make Mint Raita (Pudina Raita):

  • Take a medium sized bowl and add yogurt to it. Mash it with a blender or madani until it gets smooth. Add water and remaining ingredients except mint leaves and again mix them well.
  • Now add mint (both chopped and grinned) to it and mix it well.  Refrigerate Mint Raita for 1/2 hour.
  • Before serving, garnish Mint Raita with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve chilled.
