Mango is a fruit of summer and is one of the most popular Indian fruit. In india, there are more than 150 varities of Mango. Mango raita is also known as Aam ka raita. It is sweet in taste and gives a great yellow colour of Mango raita.
Ingredients for Mango Raita:
1 cup yogurt (dahi)
1/2 cup ripe Mango, chopped in medium size pieces (Aam)
1/4 t-spoon black salt or to taste (kala namak) (optional, if want a sweet raita the don't add salt)
1/2 t-spoon mustard seeds (Raai ka dana)
1/4 t-spoon black pepper, grounded (Kali mirch)
4 t-spoon sugar
1/2 cup water
1 t-spoon vegetable oil
How to make Mango Raita:
- Take a medium sized bowl and add yogurt to it. Mash it with a blender or madani until it gets smooth. Add water and remaining ingredients except Mango, oil, mustard seeds and again mix them well.
- Take oil in a small pan and put it over low heat, after a minute add mustard seeds, when they crackle, turn off the heat. Add it to the raita mixture
- Now, add Mango to it and mix it well. Refrigerate Mango Raita for 1/2 hour.
- Serve Mango Raita chilled.
