Coconut raita Recipe
Coconut raita is also known as Nariyal ka raita. Coconut raita is a south Indian raita recipe, but now served in North part of India also.
Ingredients for Coconut raita (Nariyal raita):
1 cup yogurt (dahi)
1/2 cup Fresh water Coconut, Scraped (Nariyal)
1/2 t-spoon roasted ground cumin (Jeera)
1 green chilly, finely chopped (optional)
1/2 t-spoon salt
1/2 t-spoon kala namak (if not available, then take salt instead)
1/4 t-spoon black pepper (Kali mirch)
1/4 t-spoon red chillies powder (lal mirch)
10-15 fresh coriander leaves (Dhaniya patti)
1/2 cup water
How to make Coconut raita (Nariyal raita):
- Take a medium sized bowl and add yogurt to it. Mash it with a blender or madani/whisk until it gets smooth. Add water and remaining ingredients and again mix them well. Refrigerate Coconut raita for 1/2 hour
- Before serving, garnish Coconut raita with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve chilled.
