Ingredients for Cabbage Dal :
1/2 cup Moong Dal
1 cup Cabbage, shredded (Patta Gobhi)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 small tomatoes, chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, chopped (lahsun)
1/2 t-spoon turmeric powdered (haldi)
2 cup water
salt to taste
For Seasoning :
1/2 t-spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 t-spoon Mustard seeds (Rai)
1/4 t-spoon Asafoetida (Hing)
2 Dry Red chillies
8-10 curry leaves (Kadhi Patta)
2 table-spoon oil
How to make Cabbage Dal :
- Wash Moong Dal 3-4 times with water. Now, take a Pressure cooker and add 2 cup water, Moong Dal, turmeric and a pinch of salt,cook it over medium-high heat with lid open for 5 minutes.
- Now, put cabbage, onion, tomatoes, garlic and salt to the cooker, stir well and pressure cook on medium flame for 8-10 minutes or until dal and cabbage gets properly cooked.
- Now, for Seasoning, take a small frying pan and heat oil over medium heat. After a minute put all the ingredients of seasoning and fry on low heat till the mixture turns golden brown.
- Pour this seasoning in Cabbage Dal and Serve Cabbage Dal hot with rice.
