Coconut Chutney Recipe
Coconut chutney is also known as Nariyal ki Chutney or white chutney because of the white colour of coconut. Coconut chutney is a south Indian chutney recipe that is served offenly with dosa, idli or uttapam.
Ingredients for Coconut chutney:
1 fresh coconut, grated (Nariyal)
2 table-spoon urad dal (yellow lentil)
2 t-spoon mustard seeds (raai)
2 whole red chillies
3 table-spoon cooking oil
10-15 curry leaves (Kadhi patta)
salt to taste
How to make Coconut chutney:
- Take a grinder and add grated Coconut and salt to it. Grind them to form a thick paste.
- Now for a seasoning, take a frying pan and heat 3 table-spoon oil in it. After a minute, add udad dal and mustard to it, turn the heat to low. Then, add curry leaves and dry red chillies. Cook for 2-3 mins.
- Now, put the ground Coconut mixture to this pan and turn off the heat, Stir well.
- Coconut chutney is ready to eat. Serve Coconut chutney with idly, uttapam or masala dosa.
Note - You can serve coconut chutney immediately or keep it in a refrigerator and serve cool.
