Mango Chutney Recipe

Raw or fresh mango Chutney recipe is also known as Aam ki chutney. It is the best in flavour and very quick and easy to make chutney. The combination of mango with ginger, chili and coriander leaves gives a very exotic flavour of hot Homemade Mango chutney salsa. Due to the presence of raw mango in it, the chutney is quite sour in taste. 

Ingredients for Mango chutney:

1 medium size raw Mango, peeled and chopped (kaccha Aam)
1/2 cup coriander leaves (Dhaniya patti), you may also take mint leaves instead of Coriander
4-5 whole green chillies (Hari Mirch)
1 whole red chilli
1/2 t-spoon mustard seeds (Rai)
a pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
1 table-spoon cooking oil
1/2 t-spoon cumin seeds (Jeera)
salt to taste
2 cloves ginger (Adrak)
3-4 cloves garlic (Lahsun)

 

How to make Mango chutney:

  • Heat oil in a small frying pan and add red chillies to it. After 30 secs. add mustard seeds, asafoetida, cumin and turn off the heat. Keep this fried seasoning aside.
  • Now take a grinder and add all the ingredients including mango and fried seasoning. Add some water if needed. Grind them to form a smooth paste.
  • Mango chutney is ready to eat. You can serve mango chutney with anything you like.
